FREE ADMISSION TO MONUMENTS AND MUSEUMS

Visitors with disabilities can access all of the monuments and museums free of charge by contacting accessibility(at)opapisa.it at least 5 days prior to visiting and attaching proof of registered disability. The section below is exclusively dedicated to free admission to the Leaning Tower.

FREE ADMISSION TO THE LEANING TOWER

Due to safety constraints, free admissions to the Leaning Tower for people with disabilities (plus one accompanying companion) will only be granted if booked in advance, and within specific time slots. Limited availability means that morning visits must take place before 10:00am. Afternoon visits must take place after 6:00pm (8:00pm closing time); after 5:00pm (7:00pm closing time) and after 4:00pm (6:00 pm closing time). Visitors must contact accessibility(at)opapisa.it at least 5 days in advance. For safety reasons, children under the age of 8 are not allowed to access the Leaning Tower(they can only do so if they have already turned 8 or are about to turn 8 in the same calendar year). Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Proof of age may be requested.

The visit takes about 30 minutes with 251 steps to climb.
Individuals suffering from heart or mobility related diseases are strongly advised to avoid visiting the Leaning Tower.
The steps are uneven and slippery.
