The Opera della Primaziale Pisana and the Anima Mundi Festival of Sacred Music have launched the 15th Anima Mundi of the International Competition of Sacred Composition.

Each composer will be able to participate in the competition with a single score which is entirely original and has never been published, performed or recorded previously. The winner will receive a prize of € 5,000.00 and the piece will be performed in the Cathedral of Pisa as part of the programming of the XXII Festival of Sacred Music Anima Mundi scheduled for September 2023.

The text “Sette parole di Cristo in croce” (Septem verba Domini Jesu Christi) was chosen to be created for solo baritone voice and string orchestra composed of first and second violins, violas, cellos, double bass and organ. This text to be played in open form (at your choosing).
