The Opera della Primaziale Pisana and the Anima Mundi Festival of Sacred Music have launched the 14th Anima Mundi of the International Competition of Sacred Composition.
Each composer will be able to participate in the competition with a single score which is entirely original and has never been published, performed or recorded previously. The winner will receive a prize of € 5,000.00 and the piece will be performed in the Cathedral of Pisa as part of the programming of the XXI Festival of Sacred Music Anima Mundi scheduled for September 2022.
The Ave Maria prayer was chosen to be set to music in Italian with the use of a children’s choir, viola soloist, 2 violins, cello and organ. A short sung prayer, a text that children can understand and express with simplicity and spontaneity.
