Opening and closing time

Open every day
Entrance is allowed up to 30 minutes before closing time.
Tickets for the Tower are at set times and limited in number, you must choose a time when you buy your ticket.
The ticket for all the other monuments and museums is valid from the chosen date (not before) for 1 year, during the opening time.

SPECIAL OPENING AND CLOSING
For security reasons, access from Via Cardinale Maffi will remain closed. We regret that it may be necessary, in the interests of security or public safety or other specific circumstances like ceremonies or events, for us to alter the opening hours or close specific areas at any time, and without prior notice.
Baptistery Closed to visitors from 2 October to 1 December 2023 and from 20 May to 14 June 2024. When opened some areas can be closed due to restoration work. The opening can vary on Sundays and on religious holidays.
Cathedral Open to visitors only from 10:00, can be vary on Sundays and on religious holidays.
Camposanto Special opening by night from June 17th to August 31st until 22:00. If you buy the ticket for visiting the Tower from 19:30 you get a free pass to visit the Camposanto, not subjected to a fixed time.The entrance is free on the 1 and 2 November on the occasion of All Soul’s and Saints’days.
Tower Special opening by night until 10pm from June 17th to August 31st. Closing at 15:30 on 2 March for technical reasons. Early closing on 16 June. From 17 June to 31 August long opening until 22:00. Early closing on 19 July and 9 August 2024. 
Opera del Duomo Palace There are currently no scheduled exhibitions
August 9, 2023 – 850th ANNIVERSARY LAY THE FIRST STONE OF THE TOWER. The Tower is open until 20:00. From 20:30 to 24:00 free admission to all the other monuments and museums.
December 19, 2023 All monuments and museums are open until 17:00.
