The dedication to God of a new church has always had a great impact on the spirituality of the Christian people. On the occasion of the ninth centenary of this decisive event, celebrated by Pope Gelasius II, on September 26, 1118, the Archdiocese and Opera della Primaziale Pisana set up a sacred representation, which will take place in the Cathedral. There will be the declamation of famous texts of the tradition derived from the homilies of great past pastors of the Church, from Eusebius of Caesarea to Augustine to St. Bernard, and testimonies of important debates, held on crucial occasions in the design phases of new churches. The director Salvatore Ciulla has created a light show, original music composed for the occasion and poems by Th.S. Eliot, which will animate listening to texts.
