The Opera della Primaziale Pisana and the Anima Mundi Festival of Sacred Music have launched the 18th Anima Mundi of the International Competition of Sacred Composition. Each composer will be able to participate in the competition with a single score which is entirely original and has never been published, performed or recorded previously.

The chosen text is Il Cantico delle Creature by San Francesco d’Assisi to be created for spoken voice with string orchestra accompaniment, consisting of 3 first violins, 3 second violins, 3 violas, 2 cellos, and 1 double bass.

Composers of any nationality are admitted, with no age limits.

The winner will receive a prize of € 5,000.00 and the piece will be performed in the Cathedral of Pisa as part of the programming of the XXV Festival of Sacred Music Anima Mundi scheduled for September 2026.
