The Serassi organ

Just like the figurative and architectural arts, the organ-making art of the past centuries has enriched the places of worship with masterpieces that from a technical and phonic point of view are veritable sound monuments.

The Italian tradition, unlike that of the transalpine regions, has always been faithful to the decision of making instruments that were not too big but inspired by elegance and refinement.

Their sound range includes few registers, which develop the family of the Principals with a Ripieno in separate lines and a Flute to add some colour.

While over time the sound range has added new registers by taking up peculiar timbres from other national schools until it completed the range of all sound resources to perform any page of organ literature, this kept following our tradition, where priority is given to the Ripieno in separate lines. Obviously, more than in any other church, it is the Cathedrals which over the centuries have been witnessing the development of this art, when the liturgy and available funds demanded that the most famous organ makers be employed.
