During its centuries-long activity, the choir has acquired an extraordinary wealth of scores composed by famous and less famous composers, such as Giovan Carlo Maria Clari, to mention just one.
The music archives consist of two sections: the historical archives collect the scores used in the old times by the choir. Following the disastrous fire of the Cathedral in 1595, all paper documents went lost. The oldest score dates back, therefore, to the XVII century; it was composed by Teofilo Macchetti, "Responsi per i morti a cinque".
The Opera della Primaziale Pisana also has modern archives, which collect the scores currently used by today's choir.
Altogether, the archives now include approximately 4,000 works, which can be available on request by contacting the Conductor of the Cathedral choir.
