The website provides multilevel access with guided tours for ordinary visitors, in-depth historical and theme information for students and researchers, and through a standard interface it even gives scholars direct access to the vast wealth of digital data collected over the last few years on all the buildings of the square. In particular, the website is closely related to a web-space, entirely designed in interactive three-dimensional graphics, which as it is online has been mainly designed for tourists, so it has simpler interaction methods, while the management of three-dimensional data for technical or scientific purposes is accessible from the offline stations.
For specialist users, it provides all kinds of experts and researchers with access to the consultation of its archives, which collect, duly filed and indexed, all sorts of documents and evidence (bibliographic, photographic, iconographic, archival, epigraphic sources, restoration documents). The Archives contain digital materials (the existing databases, duly updated and standardised, on the Tower and the Monumental Cemetery), as well as new materials: new databanks designed to supplement and complete the existing ones, with different kinds of documents on the Square and the Belfry. The website has been designed by the Fine Arts Service and Scuola Normale and has been sponsored by Opera Primaziale Pisana with the help of Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Pisa
